Hinton food bank is primarily volunteer run, with only one paid part-time coordinator. Your time is essential to our work. Volunteers allow us to spread the workload as we serve our community. Our volunteers are our extended family. Any volunteers under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent.
– We encourage volunteers to help on our Tuesday evening work –show up at 5:45 p.m. at Volunteer door off alley at 124 Market St.
– sign in and wash up.
– then ask any other volunteer how you can help and you will be directed to an area and shown the ropes.
After you have volunteered a few times on site, we can discuss other ongoing roles at Hinton food bank. If unsure who to talk to, ask for the HFB part-time coordinator Kate, or an HFB chairperson. You can also call 7808656256 or email hintonfoodbank@gmail.com.
Note that for those not able to physically volunteer, we do have some volunteer roles that can be done from home (using your computer and phone).
